This event was an excellent turn out, quite unexpected to me since I had only agreed a month prior to the event to be event director, and therefore publicity except via the Internet was minimal. Many of the regulars from all around the state as well as from northern MA ventured out on the several courses offered. We were also happy to welcome some first timers and some UNH students.

The woods were quite open now that the leaves had fallen. It was a beautiful sunny but chilly day. The UNH fields that are usually a soggy mess were partially frozen after the first deep freeze night and the woods had dried up considerably. Everyone seemed to have fun, and the UNH field house tunnel provided welcome warmth in spite of its rattling ventilators and crummy lighting. While driving is usually not an option during a foot-O Pete Bundschuh nevertheless decided to repark his car into a legal parking spot after he had already started running on the red course. Good move Pete (one fewer 50$ parking ticket for me to appeal)!

I was wondering though, Pete very un-typically seemed to be running out of bounds on the way to control # 1. Bob Walsh on the other hand not only found O-flags but also successfully located a geo-cache (Don’t know what that is? Ask Bob!).
